Improvement Works – Primary Internet Feed

On May 15 and 16, ICT Services will be carrying out work to move our primary internet feed from County Hall to Spilman Street.

This work will provide greater resilience to our primary internet feed by it moving from County Hall to 3 Spilman Street. This is the final piece of work in decommissioning our aging data center in County Hall and will have a significant impact on the Net Zero carbon agenda for the Authority.

The nature of this work means that there will be several outages during the weekend whilst work is carried out to move the internet feed and associated infrastructure between sites. Many services will be failed over to our secondary internet feed in Ammanford and disruptions to web facing services will be kept to a minimum.

The following services will be directly impacted by the change and will not be available on the morning of the 15th, from 9am until approximately 1pm.

• Council sites connected over ADSL
• Public Access Network
• Home Worker Phones (Teleworker)

Whilst it is unlikely that all systems will be unavailable for the duration of the weekend, all should be considered at risk.
