Council covers the cost of flu jabs for staff

Many council staff are eligible to receive a free flu vaccine (your GP will contact you if you fall into these categories), but for those who aren’t the council will cover the cost again this year.

Flu (also known as influenza) can be serious and having a flu vaccination every year is the best way to protect yourself. It is also one of the best ways to protect the NHS, who are currently preparing for a difficult winter. Last year over 1 million people in Wales had their flu vaccine, that’s almost 1 in every 3 people.

If you are eligible you are encouraged to get your free flu vaccine to "protect yourselves, your communities and your NHS”.

Further information on eligibility is available on https://phw.nhs.wales/services-and-teams/beat-flu/

If, however you are not eligible for a free vaccine, you can pay to have it done at a selection of national and independent pharmacies and the council will reimburse the fee.

To claim the reimbursement visit your My View account, which is now accessible from any device, and select the expenses section – just remember to keep your receipt as proof that you have had the vaccination.

If you need help accessing your My View account, please speak to your manager.
