New working arrangements
In April 21, Corporate Management Team agreed the “Better Ways of Working - Our People Framework”. The Framework has been developed to underpin the case for change agreed by CMT in March 2021 and sets out how our people will be able to work moving forward. Unlike agile working this framework applies to all our people and not just those that have traditionally worked out of an office.
In summary, it has been agreed that all existing employees are placed on one of our three working arrangements. It is important to note that your contract will not be changed as a result of these proposals.
This arrangement would be suited to the majority of our “office workers” where their ability to undertake their role is not reliant on the location that they work. The location from where they work will be decided in agreement with their manager. This location could be a location close to home, one of our buildings, or the worker’s home and a hybrid approach may be taken. If you have a multi-located working arrangement, your contractual base will be one named CCC workplace.
This arrangement would be suited to roles such as a Refuse Loader, Cleaner, Leisure Attendant, Receptionist, Senior Support Worker (Residential Care), where the worker’s ability to undertake their role is reliant on them attending a specific location e.g., one of our Depots, Council Buildings, Leisure Centres or Residential Care Homes. If you have a fixed-located working arrangement, your contractual base will be one named CCC workplace.
Currently, this working arrangement only applies to our Domiciliary Care Workers in line with the jointly agreed Operational Protocol. However, this model can be explored by services in consultation with their teams and advice from People Management. If you have a community-located working arrangement, you do not have a contractual substantive base from which you work.
