Our approach

To achieve Better Ways of Working, we have set up four workstreams to support the work of the Strategic group. The workstreams will focus on reviewing and developing key policies relating to the following areas:

Having developed the new "Our People Framework", this workstream is now in the process of reviewing key people management polices in light of the Better Ways of Working proposals such as our:

  • Recruitment strategy
  • Flexible Working policy
  • Secondment / Deployment policies
  • Travel & Excess Mileage policy
  • Learning policy
  • Flexi-time scheme
  • Agile Working Policy

The workstream will also make sure we have health & wellbeing resources in place to support all our people as well as useful learning & development materials.

This workstream will ensure we have the right digital tools in place to support the Better Ways of Working proposals and service modernisation. It will look at:

  • Digital transformation
  • Back-office systems
  • Digital communications
  • ICT Infrastructure
  • Online Resource Booking System

This workstream is responsible for communicating key messages about the Better Ways of Working proposals as well as encouraging staff engagement and ensuring staff are involved in decisions as we plan for the way forward.

We understand that we are a diverse workforce and the proposals will affect different groups of staff in different ways. As such we are creating a targeted and focused communication approach, ensuring a simple, clear and consistent message across our workforce.

If you don't already receive the weekly staff newsletter, sign up by heading over to the home page.

The priority for this workstream is making sure our accommodation strategy aligns with the Better Ways of Working proposals.

The workstream will also consider how to make best use of the property resources available to us whilst ensuring workspaces are fit for purpose.
