Step Challenge 2023

Page updated: 26/05/2023

This year’s step challenge is going to be a little bit different. Instead of being added to a Teams Channel, participants can download an Excel spreadsheet.

This year’s challenge will take place between Monday 15th of May at 12:00am until Monday 29th of May at 23:59.

You can participate as both an individual or a group. The maximum number of people should be 10.

Each week the Excel spreadsheet will calculate your average steps (this is done for both individuals and groups). You can download the sheet here.

At the end of the two weeks, there is the option of submitting your average steps in a Microsoft Forms which will be made available here at the end of the challenge. If you would like to submit your steps, we can see which individual or team did the most steps and a winner will be announced in June. The form is available here. You will have two weeks after the challenge has finished to submit your steps.

However submitting your steps is not mandatory and if you would like to download the Excel forms and keep track of your own steps for your personal use, that is also an option.

The usual Teams channel will not be in use. If the FAQ’s do not answer your questions, then please email us at health&wellbeing@carmarthenshire.gov.uk.

F&Q's

You simply download the excel spreadsheet. If you are participating as a group, it might be useful to choose one person to fill in the document and collect everyone’s steps. Simply add in the steps and the excel document works out the average score.

1. If signing up as a group, get a group of willing individuals together prior to the 15th of May. Create a group chat so you can keep in touch with people and create a fun group name! You can also partake as an individual.

2. Download the relevant documents from the intranet and save them.

3. Choose one person from your group to fill out the Excel document each week or if an induvial, complete the form yourself.

4. Start the challenge!

5. At the end of the challenge, if you would like to submit your results to the H&W team and see how well you did, you can fill out this short form. At the end of May, those who submitted their results will see if they did the most steps in two weeks.

6. Submitting your results is not mandatory; you can also simply use the Excel document for your personal use.

You can sign up as an individual. The process is the same.

10 is the maximum number of people who can sign up as a group.
