Clinic Appointments

All appointments will be arranged within 10 working days of receiving the referral from your manager. Both you and your manager will be notified of this appointment. You will receive a letter and full explanation leaflet regarding your appointment.

During your consultation the Clinician will ask questions in relation to your symptoms and discuss the information within the referral in order to assess your health condition.

Following your appointment and with your consent, they will compile a medical report in order to provide advice to you, your manager and HR. In order to ensure that you are receiving the right support to enable you to return or remain in work.

Following receipt of your report, if you require clarity on any information included please contact us at your earliest convenience.

Please note we require 5 full working days notice if you are unable to attend. Failure to attend or give enough notice may result in your manager still being charged.

Please ensure that you allow enough time to locate the Occupational Health Centre so that you can attend promptly.

A late arrival of ten minutes or more may result in the appointment being postponed or cancelled as there would be not enough time to undertake a satisfactory assessment.

This could result in appropriate occupational health advice to line management, on your behalf, being delayed. In addition, your manager may still be charged for the missed appointment.

Only with your informed consent your report will be sent to you, your line manager and the HR Attendance team. All OH staff will at all times maintain strict confidentiality.

Your confidential OH records are maintained to the same high standard of confidentiality as hospital or GP records in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998. Your OH record will not be disclosed to anyone outside of the OH Centre without your consent.

If you would like access to your Occupational Health records, this must be done in writing. We will need your name, date of birth, employee number and what part of your records you require.

You can request your records by:

  • You can verbally request these. However, we would encourage the process above to be followed

For further information contact the OH Centre on: 01267 246060 or download the full confidentiality procedure.
