The Health & Wellbeing Team

The Health and Wellbeing Team are here to support both the physical and mental wellbeing of our staff as well as offering focused and practical solutions for managers. In doing so, we aim to help protect both our workforce and the authority in the immediate and longer-term future.

Our Health & Wellbeing Coordinators provide a range of resources and signposting via our Health & Wellbeing intranet pages and we are always looking at ways to ensure that the content we provide is both helpful and relevant to all.

Did you know we:

  • Have Health and Wellbeing groups across all departments. As part of these groups we give support and advice to managers to develop action plans and implement interventions, organise wellbeing surveys and develop Wellbeing Charters.
  • Give lifestyle advice, guidance and signposting on various topics.
  • Deliver presentations and workshops in relation to wellbeing.
  • Recruit, train and support a network of Health and Wellbeing Champions and Mental Health First Aiders.
  • Develop and support health promotion initiatives in line with national health and wellbeing days and events.
  • Hold e-chats and other events and activities in relation to Mental Health in order to continue to raise the profile of mental health and reduce the mental health stigma across the authority.
  • Hold corporate health and wellbeing challenges throughout the year, such as the Step into Spring Step Challenge, (coming soon).

You can also receive support and advice by getting in touch with one of your Health and Wellbeing Champions. We have over 70 Champions who can support, encourage, and inspire colleagues on Health and Wellbeing topics in an informal way.

We also currently have a team of over 100 Mental Health First Aiders across the authority who can support you. They are equipped to provide initial support, a non-judgemental, empathetic ear and to confidently signpost someone to appropriate support, both internal and external, they are equipped to deal with emergencies too.

For any wellbeing related queries, concerns or suggestions, please get in touch with the Health and Wellbeing Team in confidence via the online contact form. You can also email us at health&wellbeing@carmarthenshire.gov.uk

Advice will be provided predominantly by telephone, email and Microsoft Teams with face to face as required.
