Coronavirus (COVID-19)

To ensure that we can support service areas placed under additional demand at this time, we have taken the decision to postpone all learning events that require staff attendance with immediate effect. This position will continue to be monitored based on the advice received from Government.

All our resources are now focused on supporting colleagues with any essential operational skills for critical services.

We will continue to communicate arrangements via our pages, and we encourage colleagues to take advantage of e-learning as part of any revised working arrangements they may be required to do. The application system for learning and development is temporarily unavailable for all new applications until further notice.

Visit our Coronavirus guidance page to keep up to date with the latest information and advice for staff. For the latest guidance and updates to services for residents, please visit the Newsroom. You can also follow us on Facebook and Twitter.

Learning and Development

In response to the Coronavirus (COVID-19), the Learning & Development Team have put together a wide range of skills induction training for anyone who has been asked to work for an alternative service.

Whilst you are working from home, we also encourage you to take advantage of other development opportunities available to you such as coaching, mentoring and e-Learning.

We update this information regularly and will share new ideas and good practice we’ve come across. If you have any suggestions, feedback or learning tools you'd like to share with colleagues, please get in touch at LD@carmarthenshire.gov.uk.

Coaching

In light of COVID-19 and the uncertainty and fear some of us are feeling, don’t forget we have a network of coaches with the skills to help you.

Our coaches can support you by listening and helping you to untangle a plan.  We don’t offer counselling but we can certainly help you while you consider your personal fears and the best way forward for yourself and/or your teams.

If you would like to arrange some time over Skype with a Coach please contact the Learning & Development Team
