‘Use Your Welsh’ campaign 2025

We are proud to support the ‘Use Your Welsh’ campaign once again this year, which runs from 24 November to 5 December.

The campaign is a great opportunity for us as a Council to promote all our Welsh services and show that Welsh is relevant to everyone.

The main aim of the campaign is to inspire and encourage everyone to use Welsh in their everyday life – at home, in the workplace, over the phone, face to face, and online. Don't worry about mistakes — this is how everyone learns! Use your Welsh today - a little or a lot. Every word counts.

To promote internal use of Welsh, we have added an orange bubble to the Teams profiles of everyone who is at level 3 or above, so that we can recognise each other and start conversations in Welsh.

However, if you do not have a photo on your profile, the system cannot place the bubble. To add a photo, click on your name at the top of the Teams page and select 'change picture'. Then upload a photo of your choice.

There are also Teams backgrounds with the orange bubble which will help those in a meeting visually see if you are a Welsh speaker or learning the language.
