World Health Day - Time to do a Self-Check on your Health

1086 days ago

It’s World Health Day on the 7th April and we wanted to use this opportunity to encourage you to do a self-health check.

Many conditions such as Type II diabetes and its associated symptoms, heart disease, cancer and even dementia can be prevented or slowed down with lifestyle changes. Doing some self-checks every 6-12 months can help you to identify whether you may be at risk. This can give you time to make changes before it becomes a health concern or help to alleviate symptoms of a current health issue.

Our Self-Health Check page provides you with information and guidance on some of the key health checks that you can do yourself, including how to undertake these tests, how to interpret your results, and further support and information if required.

If you would like to speak to someone about making healthier lifestyle choices, then get in touch with your GP or contact the Health & Wellbeing Team who can signpost you to various organisations. If you are currently having health concerns then see your GP, or if they are affecting your work, speak to your line manager about a referral to Occupational Health.
