New online form to book simultaneous translation for your meeting/event
6 days ago
Are you arranging a meeting or an event and need to provide a simultaneous translation service?
You are now able to book this via a new and easy online booking form.
Providing simultaneous translation at a meeting enables all attendees to use their preferred language naturally and easily and ensures that those who are aren’t able to speak Welsh are able to understand and follow what’s being said by Welsh speakers.
Please get in touch at the earliest opportunity to ensure the service can be provided for you as the simultaneous translation service is very busy.*
The online booking form will be able to be found on the Marketing & Media pages or on the ‘I would like’ drop down tab on the intranet.
A few points to keep in mind when completing the form:
- Get in touch with the details as soon as possible so a translator can be booked
- Is your meeting grant funded / third party? If so, a financial code will need to be provided
- If your meeting is being held virtually on Teams, the meeting organiser must send the Teams invitation and ensure that the translation option is set-up on the invitation. Instructions on how to do this are on the intranet (link below) and we can help by doing a pre-meeting 'test' to check that everything is working. Simultaneous translation in Microsoft Teams
- If available, send any relevant papers and agenda for the meeting to the translator ahead of the meeting
*If we are unable to arrange a simultaneous translation service for you in-house we will try to arrange an external translator, however, please be aware there will be a cost for this.
There are guides available on the intranet to help you work bilingually
