Violence and aggression, bullying and harassment or any other form of behaviour that affects the personal safety of any Carmarthenshire County Council employee, from any source is UNACCEPTABLE and WILL NOT BE TOLERATED.
Reporting incidents of violence and aggression allows the Council to understand when and where these incidents are happening, if required risk assessments / arrangements are in place and whether any additional support may be required.
All staff have a right to work without fear of violence, abuse, harassment, discrimination, victimisation, sexual harassment or harassment due to a protected characteristic of any kind from others.
Unacceptable behaviours include:
- Swearing
- Shouting
- Assaulting
- Intimidating
- Threatening
- Name-calling
- Obstructing
- Following/stalking
- Naming on social media
- Written aggression (e.g. email/letters etc)
Or any other behaviour that makes you feel intimidated, threatened or uncomfortable.
Employees are reminded to report ALL incidents of violence and aggression to line managers as soon as possible - this can be a verbal report, an email or a paper copy of the form (available on the intranet).
REMEMBER – Violence and aggression incidents are NOT part of the job and should NOT be ignored.
