Walking is one of the easiest ways to improve our health and stay connected to our community, helping us feel less lonely and isolated. There are so many benefits to getting out and walking including those for our physical and mental wellbeing.
There are many ways to get your steps in, such as getting out for a walk in your lunch break, walking to the local shop instead of driving, getting out for a jog after work or even marching on the spot during your virtual team meeting (it’s been known to happen!). Every step counts so be as inventive as possible.
We are blessed in Carmarthenshire to have so many beautiful walking routes, views and nature reserves. There are six Local Nature Reserves in Carmarthenshire: Pembrey Burrows and Saltings, Ashpits Pond and Pwll Lagoon, North Dock Dunes, Carreg Cennen, Glan-yr-Afon, Kidwelly, and Morfa Berwig, Bynea. There are also a number of Nature reserves throughout the County managed by other organisations. For more details click here Get out and about! (gov.wales)
