County Hall – maintenance works August 2025

As part of our essential electrical infrastructure works, we have been carefully monitoring County Hall's power demands over recent weeks to ensure the temporary generator would be appropriately sized. However, electrical demand has significantly exceeded all previous measurements.

To protect our temporary power supply and ensure continued operations:

1. Work Location Flexibility
   We request all staff who can work from home or another office to do so until Friday, 15 August.
2. Onsite Power Restrictions
   For those whose presence is essential and cannot work from elsewhere:

• Please use only appliances (kettles/microwaves) in the designated kitchens
• Portable heaters/fan heaters must not be used
• Be mindful of all electrical equipment use

Our electrical contractor continues to monitor the situation closely. Normal operations will resume Monday,18 August when permanent power is restored.

We understand this creates challenges and sincerely appreciate your cooperation. Your manager can advise if your onsite presence is essential during this period.
