Celebrate St David’s Day – learn Welsh with Work Welsh!

This St David’s Day, we’re excited to launch the Work Welsh programme for 2025!

This is a fantastic opportunity to learn Welsh alongside colleagues in a friendly and supportive environment within the Council. Whether you're just starting out or looking to build on your skills, there’s a course for you!

These weekly courses will run until April 2026, giving you plenty of time to grow in confidence and use Welsh in your everyday work and life.

Course Dates:

Foundation Work Welsh

Thursdays, starting 03/04/2025, 9:30 - 12:30

This level builds on Entry (Mynediad) level to teach all the basic patterns of the Welsh language.

Intermediate Work Welsh

Fridays, starting 04/04/2025, 9:30 - 12:30

Suitable for those who are familiar with the main patterns of Welsh. There’s a little more writing, reading and listening at this level.

Higher Work Welsh

Wednesdays, starting 02/04/2025, 9:30 - 12:30

You’ll discuss all kinds of subjects and themes at this level. The main aim is to create confident speakers.

Alongside our Work Welsh programme, we’re also launching Ieithgar on Thinqi, our new Learning Management System (LMS)! This resource is packed with engaging videos to help you understand bilingualism and develop your Welsh skills in a fun and accessible way.

Croeso Course:

Perfect for complete beginners or as a confidence boost before joining a course. Learn how to pronounce local place names and give people a warm Welsh welcome.

Gloywi Course:

Need a refresher on mutations, tricky little words, and when to use them? This course is ideal for polishing up your Welsh and building fluency.
