Climate Action Carmarthenshire is calling on all staff to take an active role in driving change and inspiring conversations that will help tackle climate change. Whether at work, at home, in the community, or on social media, we need everyone to share ideas, take action, and work together towards a more sustainable future.

For staff, the scope of Climate Action Carmarthenshire includes a wide range of actions. This spans from ensuring all new major building projects, including homes and schools, are energy efficient and incorporate renewable energy, as well as retrofitting older buildings with energy-saving measures. These might include solar PV panels, LED lighting, advanced lighting controls, pipework insulation, boiler upgrades, and water and heat-saving technologies.

In addition, we’re working to reduce our carbon emissions across the board. We’ve committed to sourcing all our electricity from renewable sources and are taking steps like converting streetlights to energy-efficient LED technology. Our fleet is also undergoing an upgrade, with the inclusion of electric vehicles and more energy-efficient refuse and gritting vehicles.

By making these changes, we’re not only leading by example but also building a sustainable future for all. Your involvement is crucial—together, we can achieve real change. Let’s make Climate Action Carmarthenshire a success and set the standard for a greener, more energy-efficient future.
