An Introduction to Microsoft Teams
Who is it aimed at?
All employees who use Microsoft Teams within their role to communicate and collaborate with their team.
These sessions can be tailored for specific team's needs.
What are the objectives?
- To gain an understanding of what Microsoft Teams can provide, and how it can support collaboration within your team.
- To gain an understanding of how the Microsoft Teams page layout works, looking at the Activity, Chat, Teams, Calls and Files tabs.
- To understand how to access settings on your profile and how to change your status.
- To understand how to participate in meetings using the meeting bar to share video, mute/unmute, raise hand, contribute to a chat panel and how to use extra meeting features.
- To understand where to navigate if extra support is needed in the future, linking to the ‘How to videos’ and further guidance located on Microsoft Teams.
How will it make a difference?
By understanding how Microsoft Teams works, it will develop your confidence in its use, and allow you to work more efficiently. It will improve communication and collaboration across the authority.

How to apply:
If you work for Carmarthenshire County Council (CCC) and are logged into a CCC device – PC, laptop, tablet or smartphone, complete this application form.
If you work for the Council but do NOT have access to a CCC device or an email address your line manager will need to apply on your behalf.
Council employees cannot apply for any courses from their own personal device.
Partners, agency staff or people who do not work for the Council cannot apply for this course.
