Who is it aimed at?
Approved Mental Health Professionals (AMHPs)
What are the objectives?
Supporting AMHPs to explore best practice approaches when working with personality disorder under the Mental Health Act 1983. It will specifically aim to:
- refresh and develop knowledge about what is meant by personality disorder and its presentation
- develop a greater understanding of risk and risk assessment with individuals with personality disorder
- explore the best way to respond and relate to individuals presenting with personality disorder
- increase knowledge about working with personality disorder under the Mental Health Act
How will it make a difference?
It will support AMHPs to practice effectively when working with people diagnosed with Personality Disorders

How to apply:
If you work for Carmarthenshire County Council (CCC) and are logged into a CCC device – PC, laptop, tablet or smartphone, complete this application form.
If you work for the Council but do NOT have access to a CCC device or an email address your line manager will need to apply on your behalf.
Council employees cannot apply for any courses from their own personal device.
Partners, agency staff or people who do not work for the Council cannot apply for this course.
