Self Harm Awareness
Who is it aimed at?
All staff internally, including Fostering and Adoption, Preventative Services, 3rd sector and independent sector
What are the objectives?
Delegates will be able to:
- Identify the range of self-harming behaviours
- Identify the risks for self-harming behaviours
- Support individuals and families to maintain their safety and seek appropriate help
How will it make a difference?
Increased knowledge and confidence to identify and raise the issue. Delegates will know what is the appropriate action to take in a crisis situation to keep a person safe from immediate risk to life
They will be able to help develop strategies with an individual to reduce the risk of carrying out self-harming behaviours.

How to apply:
If you work for Carmarthenshire County Council (CCC) and are logged into a CCC device – PC, laptop, tablet or smartphone, complete this application form.
If you work for the Council but do NOT have access to a CCC device or an email address your line manager will need to apply on your behalf.
Council employees cannot apply for any courses from their own personal device.
Partners, agency staff or people who do not work for the Council but meet the eligibility criteria to attend this course should complete this application form.
