Trauma Informed Practice
Who is it aimed at?
Social work staff based in CMHTs, applications will be accepted from social workers based in other teams offering services to adults and kept on a reserve list until after the closing date.
What are the objectives?
The training course aims to improve practitioners’ understanding of the impact of trauma and offer tools for use in practice. It specifically offers the following:
- Knowledge about the impact of trauma on emotional and social health and well-being.
- Exploration of the key messages, data, and evidence base underpinning trauma informed practice.
- Exploration of the values, principles and key models underpinning trauma informed practice.
- Opportunities to apply trauma informed tools.
- Opportunities to critically reflect on practice and identify developments that support trauma informed practice.
How will it make a difference?
The training will support participants to offer sensitive and effective support to individuals experiencing trauma related mental health and well-being issues.
