There are range of courses and programmes available for all levels of Welsh, whether you’re a complete beginner, have already started your journey, want to polish your Welsh language skills or gain confidence.

Applying for a Course:

Follow the course registration steps with the National Centre for Learning Welsh or Say Something in Welsh
Complete the L&D Welsh language application form with the correct information

Online Taster Sessions

This short course will introduce everyday words and phrases, and are also tailored for different sectors. It is an online self-study course that is delivered in two parts containing only 10 units in total. This means that the learning is really flexible and can be accessed from devices at work or at home.

Entry (level 1-2)

Courses for beginners, where you will learn to speak about everyday activities such as your work, family and friends, and hobbies. Note – you need to complete Entry 1+2 before moving on to the next level

Entry Courses

Foundation (level 2-3)

This level builds on Entry level to teach all the basic patterns of the Welsh language. Note – you need to complete Foundation 1+2 before moving on to the next level

Foundation Courses

Intermediate (level 3-4)

Suitable for those who are familiar with the main patterns of Welsh. There’s a little more writing, reading and listening at this level. Note – you need to complete Intermediate 1+2 before moving on to the next level.

Intermediate Courses

Advanced (level 4-5)

You’ll discuss all kinds of subjects and themes at this level. The main aim is to create confident speakers. Note – you need to complete Advanced 1,2+3 before moving on to the next level.

Advanced Courses

Proficiency (level 5+)

These courses are suitable for fluent learners and Welsh speakers and are tailored to the needs of the class. Classes can focus on spoken or written skills.
