Do you want to earn rewards for your everyday journeys? Now you can – through BetterPoints South West Wales.
BetterPoints is a behaviour‑change app that rewards users for choosing sustainable travel such as walking, cycling, using public transport, or car‑sharing. The app tracks journeys automatically and converts them into points.
This programme is open to all staff at Carmarthenshire County Council. It’s really simple:
1. Download BetterPoints from the app store or the play store
2. Use your work email address to register. (Don’t have one? Enter the code: swwooa).
3. Record your journeys and earn points for walking, wheeling, cycling or using public transport.
4. Redeem your points at national retailers (Amazon, Argos, Asda, B&Q, Boots, Costa, Currys PC World, Decathlon, Deliveroo, Dunelm, Greggs, H&M, IKEA, John Lewis/Waitrose, Just Eat, Love2Shop, M&S, Matalan, Morrisons, National Book Tokens, New Look, Next, Pizza Express, Primark, Sainsburys, Screwfix, Starbucks, Tesco, TK Maxx) or at local traders. Or donate them to charity.

The regional launch begins March 2026 and runs for 12 months.
No. Staff are expected to operate as usual and continue travelling sensibly during business hours. You should not make unnecessary journeys just to collect points. Our communications will make this clear and will encourage staff to take part primarily outside of work hours where appropriate.
