Cycle Solutions - Cycle to Work Scheme

This scheme is provided to eligible employees by Cycle Solutions. The Cycle to Work Scheme is a government backed initiative that enables you to obtain a bike and/or cycling accessories to use for riding to work whilst making tax and National Insurance contributions savings from your Gross pay. You choose your perfect combination of bike and accessories and then rent the equipment through salary sacrifice from Carmarthenshire County Council.
Your maximum purchase price through this scheme is £3,500 including any accessories. When placing an order on the scheme over £1,000 you can choose a 12-month or 24-month duration when entering your details. Please note this will be subject to an eligibility criteria.
The eligibility criteria states your contract of employment must meet the duration of the agreement and the amount salary sacrificed from your gross salary does not take you below the National Living Wage requirements.

Salary sacrifice happens when you give up the right to receive part of your salary due. Salary sacrifice enables you to pay back the loan on your bike, accessories, and safety equipment from your gross pay rather than your net pay for the hire period. Allowing you to benefit from income tax and NI relief which is where savings are achieved.
Typical savings on the scheme can be up to 39% for basic rate taxpayers, and 48% for higher rate taxpayers, but the actual amount you pay depends on your personal tax band.

Once you have chosen your bike and any accessories, use the check out function to confirm your selection. A member of the Cycle Solutions order fulfilment team will call you to check everything is correct and will pick and ship your tailor-made package direct to your door.

The course will:
• Help you ride safely in any circumstance – by improving road positioning, signalling and road awareness.
• Help you develop advanced strategies for urban roads.
• Boost your confidence and improve the enjoyment of cycling.
How it works:
• We arrange a 1-2 hour accompanied cycle ride for your chosen journey.
• Often people want help to plan, then try, their commute to work and back, or simply their journey to shops, doctors etc.
• The session includes time at the beginning and end to talk about the ride.
• It is FREE in Carmarthenshire, but places are limited!
