What suggestions did you provide in terms of improving what we do?

 

Training and Awareness:

• Regular and comprehensive training sessions for all staff, including senior managers. 
• This includes face-to-face training, e-learning, and induction training for new employees. 
• There is also a call for more awareness campaigns, literature, and visual reminders about policies and support available.

Policy and Reporting:
 
• Clear and accessible policies and reporting procedures. 
• This includes making policies easily searchable on the intranet.
• Establishing clear reporting chains and ensuring that concerns are acted upon promptly. 
• Regular updates on new laws and policies. 
• More open discussions and confidence-building measures to encourage reporting.

Support and Protection:

• Better support and protection for victims of sexual harassment. 
• Ensuring that whistleblowers are protected, offering support to those who come forward, and creating a safe space for discussion. 
• There are also suggestions for harsher sanctions for perpetrators and zero tolerance policies.

Culture and Behaviour:

• Promotion of a respectful and inclusive workplace culture. 
• Educating staff on misogyny and discrimination, addressing inappropriate behaviour.
• Ensuring that senior staff lead by example. 

Specific Measures:

• Some suggestions include specific measures such as banning parents from school sites, issuing guidance to parents on what is deemed appropriate and addressing harassment from students.
• Calls for regular risk assessments, supervision and support for front line staff.
