What did you tell us about our current learning and development provision?
Understanding Sexual Harassment:
• Explanation of what constitutes sexual harassment.
• Consequences of sexual harassment.
• Highlighting that both perpetrators and victims can be of any gender or sexuality.
Appropriate Workplace Behaviour:
• Clarity on inappropriate language and behaviour.
• Generational differences in what is considered appropriate language and behaviour.
• Defining the fine line between banter and inappropriate sexual comments.
• Understanding that staring at people in a sexual manner and hugging colleagues can be inappropriate.
• Confidence and support in challenging inappropriate language and behaviour.
Reporting and Support:
• Explanation about what happens once a report has been made.
• Training for managers on how to support staff who are being harassed.
• How to report sexual harassment.
• How to access support and counselling.
Training Methods:
• Face-to-face training is preferred over e-learning or, at least, used to complement the e-learning.
• More regular refresher training.
Equalities & Diversity:
• Miss-gendering transgender individuals and more awareness and training on this.
• Homophobic remarks and understanding around transgender issues.
