2. Legal Framework
Disciplinary procedures for Chief Officers are subject to UK Employment Law (Employment Rights Act 1996) and Local Authority Standing Orders (2006 amended 2014) which set down mandatory requirements for disciplinary procedures relating to Chief Officers with statutory responsibilities. Therefore, it is important that the correct procedures are followed. The Policy also reflects the guidance set out in the ACAS Code of Practice on disciplinary and grievance procedures | Acas
