Bitesize - Coaching Conversation Skills

Who is it aimed at?

Holding a coaching conversation is a key skill to empower and motivate your teams and colleagues, and also to help them become accountable for their tasks

However, it is not a skill that can be practiced in isolation, there are other management practices and factors that have to be in place,  if the conversation and outcome is to be successful.

What are the objectives?

  • What is a coaching style
  • Why use a coaching style
  • Develop core skills
  • Identify opportunities where using a coaching conversation would be appropriate

How will it make a difference?

The ability to start — and hold — a coaching conversation is a transformational leadership skill.  Through coaching, you help people become more self-aware.  You turn experiences into learning opportunities.  You reinforce strengths and explore challenges.
