Be Alert - Suicide Interventions
Who is it aimed at?
Staff in the independent and 3rd sector.
What are the objectives?
Delegates will be able to -
- Understand the myths and facts around suicide
- Identify risk factors for suicide, identify signs and symptoms when a person is having thoughts of suicide.
- Take appropriate action in a crisis situation to keep a person safe from immediate risk of harm and suicide
- Know where to signpost/refer to for longer term support for those at risk of suicide
How will it make a difference?
Delegates will have increased confidence to support anyone who is having thoughts of/making plans for suicide, both service users and the general population, as well as within the workplace

How to apply:
If you work for Carmarthenshire County Council (CCC) and are logged into a CCC device – PC, laptop, tablet or smartphone, complete this application form.
If you work for the Council but do NOT have access to a CCC device or an email address your line manager will need to apply on your behalf.
Council employees cannot apply for any courses from their own personal device.
Partners, agency staff or people who do not work for the Council but meet the eligibility criteria to attend this course should complete this application form.
