Risk Assessment and Management of People with Learning Disabilities at Risk of Committing Sexual Offences
Who is it aimed at?
Social work staff based in CTLDs and Transition Team
What are the objectives?
To develop participants’ knowledge and skills about undertaking risk assessments and producing management plans with people with learning disabilities who are at risk of committing sexual offences. The training will specifically look at the following:
- Sex offender awareness
- How sex offenders operate
- Learning disabled sex offenders
- Distinction between disinhibition and criminal behaviour and how to respond
- Risk assessment
- Community risk management
- Good practice in professional self -care
How will it make a difference?
It will support social workers to practice effectively when working with learning disabled service users at risk of committing sexual offences
