Trauma Informed Practice

Who is it aimed at?

Social work staff based in CMHTs, applications will be accepted from social workers based in other teams offering services to adults and kept on a reserve list until after the closing date.

What are the objectives?

The training course aims to improve practitioners’ understanding of the impact of trauma and offer tools for use in practice. It specifically offers the following:

  • Knowledge about the impact of trauma on emotional and social health and well-being.
  • Exploration of the key messages, data, and evidence base underpinning trauma informed practice.
  • Exploration of the values, principles and key models underpinning trauma informed practice.
  • Opportunities to apply trauma informed tools.
  • Opportunities to critically reflect on practice and identify developments that support trauma informed practice.

How will it make a difference?

The training will support participants to offer sensitive and effective support to individuals experiencing trauma related mental health and well-being issues.

How to apply:

If you work for Carmarthenshire County Council (CCC) and are logged into a CCC device – PC, laptop, tablet or smartphone, complete this application form.

If you work for the Council but do NOT have access to a CCC device or an email address your line manager will need to apply on your behalf.

Council employees cannot apply for any courses from their own personal device.


Partners, agency staff or people who do not work for the Council cannot apply for this course.
