Safeguarding Group C
Who is it aimed at?
Staff or managers in Group-C are those who have direct responsibility for safeguarding people.
This includes anyone:
- who has an assessing role that’s linked to the safeguarding process and / or
- who are operating at a level where they can give advice about safeguarding to those in group A and group B and / or
- in a setting they work in or manage and / or
- with whom they spend a lot of time unsupervised in a setting where there is increased risk of safeguarding concerns
What are the objectives?
Group C can also include a designated safeguarding person and people who take a more prominent role in safeguarding decisions, including those with an active role in core groups and protection planning activities.
Individuals in this group have greater safeguarding duties and they will have decisions to make about keeping people safe and when they need to put protection processes in place.
How will it make a difference?
You will already have completed Group-A & B learning before participating on this level.

How to apply:
If you work for Carmarthenshire County Council (CCC) and are logged into a CCC device – PC, laptop, tablet or smartphone, complete this application form.
If you work for the Council but do NOT have access to a CCC device or an email address your line manager will need to apply on your behalf.
Council employees cannot apply for any courses from their own personal device.
Partners, agency staff or people who do not work for the Council cannot apply for this course.
