Safeguarding is about protecting children and adults from abuse or neglect and educating those around them to recognise the signs and dangers. One of the most important principles of Safeguarding is that it is everyone’s responsibility. Please see below a range of courses that are available to you.
ACES and Trauma Informed Practice
All staff working with children and young people.
Professional Curiosity
All social work teams in both adults and children's services.
Safeguarding Group A
Group A includes all staff who work or volunteer in a public or voluntary sector organisation or agency in Wales, including those in private sector settings, volunteers and elected members of local authorities.
Safeguarding Group B
All managers and staff who have regular contact with adults, children and members of the public in their roles. This includes all staff and managers who are or aren't registered or regulated and volunteers.
Safeguarding Group C
Staff or managers in Group-C are those who have direct responsibility for safeguarding people.
This includes anyone:
- who has an assessing role that’s linked to the safeguarding process and / or
- who are operating at a level where they can give advice about safeguarding to those in group A and group B and / or
- in a setting they work in or manage and / or
- with whom they spend a lot of time unsupervised in a setting where there is increased risk of safeguarding concerns

Understanding the Effects of Domestic Abuse on Children and Young People
All those who work with children and young people
Domestic Abuse Awareness
All staff who may come into contact with people experiencing domestic abuse.
Understanding Domestic Abuse, Multi-agency Risk Assessment Conference (MARAC) and Risk
All those with a role which may involve contact with issues of domestic abuse.
