Individuals Who Use Services and Carers
Training for Individuals and unpaid carers living or supporting someone within Carmarthenshire.
Within the Carmarthenshire Social Care learning and development plan there are some programmes that would be suitable and beneficial for Individuals or unpaid carers to attend.
Keeping Myself Safe
Any adult with a learning disability over 18 years of age, living in Carmarthenshire. (Support workers welcome with service user if required).
Learning Disabilities and Dementia
Staff from Learning disability services who already support service users with a learning disability. Staff from older people services who may soon need to understand the importance of supporting a person with a learning disability as they age and make the transition from LD services into older people services.
As individuals living with a learning disability age they will have additional support needs if they develop dementia.
Candidates must complete ‘Looking beyond the label‘ prior to applying for this course.
Looking Beyond the Label
All Staff working in Learning Disabilities Services. Staff in services that have contact with people with a Learning Disability.
Relationships and Sexual Health
For anyone with a learning disability and anyone from their support network.
Self Harm Awareness
Practitioners working with young people. Those working within preventative roles/services. Foster carers.
