Shwmae!

Celebrations have been held across the authority to celebrate Shwmae Su’mae this October. Team members from the Place & Infrastructure department held a Welsh-themed quiz and Welshcake competition [pictured].

Local musicians performed in our markets. Sisters, Heledd and Mared performed at Carmarthen Market and Cadog were at Llanelli Market.

The national campaign aims to encourage you to use the Welsh you have, whatever your level of confidence. It is not about speaking perfect Welsh, but about taking small steps and using more Welsh in our everyday lives.

Whilst the actual day has passed (October 15), there’s lots of options continuously available to you to help improve or start to learn the Welsh language.

Remember, even small steps can make a big difference – use the Welsh you have.
