Issue of Replacement Access Cards - County Hall

A new access control system is being introduced across our corporate estate.

All staff who need access to corporate buildings will be issued with a new access card.

New cards have been created for all users who have used one of the corporate buildings during the 3-month period between May 31st and August 31st 2026.   These cards will be distributed through your director’s office or BSU, and arrangements will be communicated locally regarding collection.  If you haven’t used your access card on the system during this period, you will need to request a new card via idcards@carmarthenshire.gov.uk .

Important – Please Keep Your Existing Access Card

There will be a transitional period while the new system is being installed and commissioned across all sites. During this time:

  • Some doors will continue to operate using the existing access control system.

  • Other doors will be transferred to the new system as installation progresses.

  • You will therefore need to carry both your existing access card and your new access card for a short time.

In addition, the vehicle access barriers at staff car parks will remain on the current system for a longer period. This means your existing access card will continue to be required for car park access even after you have received your new card.  We’ll keep you updated as the programme progresses, including confirmation of the date from which the old cards can be retired.

Any queries or new card requests should be directed to idcards@carmarthenshire.gov.uk.  Due to the expected level of demand on this inbox, we would ask that you make contact only where necessary and allow additional time for responses.

Thank you in advance for your co-operation during the transition period.
