Commercialisation Board
Page updated: 07/11/2025
A strategic body created to drive forward our commercial ambitions and ensure that innovative, income-generating, and cost-saving initiatives are embedded across the organisation.
The Commercialisation Board provides leadership and oversight for the Council’s commercial activities. It ensures that all commercial projects align with our strategic priorities and that they are delivered effectively, responsibly, and with measurable impact.
Meeting at least three times a year, the Board reviews progress, evaluates new opportunities, and supports services in developing robust business cases.
The Board was created in response to growing financial pressures and the need to explore new ways of sustaining services. Its purpose is to:
o Identify and evaluate commercial opportunities
o Promote a culture of innovation and enterprise
o Support services in developing invest-to-save initiatives
o Ensure commercial projects are viable, impactful, and well-governed
o Monitor performance and share learning across the Council
