An Introduction to Social Work Practice Learning & Practice Assessment
This course is aimed at registered and qualified social workers with a minimum of two years qualified practice experience who are interested in becoming qualified ‘Practice Educators’. Social Workers who have qualified since April, 2016 must have successfully completed the Consolidation Programme before they apply. The course is a 30 credit postgraduate course at Masters Level 7. This course also requires the continuous assessment of a social work degree or masters degree student who will be based within the Candidate’s place of work for either 80, 90 or 100 days.
Critical Reflection in Practice (Developmental Workshop 1)
This is the First in a Series of 4 Developmental Workshops for Newly Qualified Social Workers in their First Year of Practice. It is important to note that these workshops also prepare newly qualified social workers for work to be completed in the Consolidation Programme for second year of practice.
Level 3 Certificate in Dementia Care
These qualifications are aimed at a diverse range of job roles and occupational areas across all service user groups and ages, working in statutory (including NHS), private and voluntary agencies. This would be suitable for anyone aged 16 or older, who have an interest in operating in a caring role for older people.
Open University Social Work Degree Programme
Carmarthenshire County Council’s Department for Communities and Education & Children Services Department provide opportunities for relevant staff to apply for part-sponsorship to the Open University’s Social Work Degree Programme.
Mentoring Social Workers in their First Year in Practice
Qualified Social Workers with a minimum of 3 years post qualifying experience, Senior Social Work Practitioners, Professional Leads and Team Managers (Social Work Qualified) who wish to become Mentors for newly qualified social workers during their first year in practice.
