Officer Code of Conduct

Page updated: 21/12/2023

We take pride from providing a public service and it should never be the platform for personal gain. The public is entitled to expect the highest standards of conduct from all Council officers. Your role is to serve Carmarthenshire County Council (the Council) in delivering services to the local community, providing advice and implementing its policies. In performing your duties you must act in an open manner with integrity, honesty, impartiality, and objectivity.

The Council's Officers' Code of Conduct, contained within Part 5.4 of our Constitution, defines the responsibilities and standards required of all who work for and on behalf of the Council.

This page has been developed to provide clarity in relation to our responsibilities as Council employees and applies to all Council employees including temporary, casual, agency workers and Council employees who are seconded to and from other organisations.
