Moving offices
Page updated: 14/04/2025
We are in the process of rolling out agile working initiatives across the organisation and are looking at various ways of ensuring that the principles and thinking that underpin agile working become embedded in relevant working practices and procedures.
It has been agreed that office moves should be subject to the completion and approval of a business case. This will aim to test whether the proposed move is aligned with our key agile working principles.
This will also aim to ensure that the anticipated service benefits from undertaking the proposed changes are considered alongside the costs of undertaking the move and any associated office modifications, and that key support roles such as property and IT have adequate prior notice to support the proposed change.
The requirement to submit a business case will apply to any office moves or changes involving 5 or more members of staff. Please note that no moves or changes should take place until approval has been granted.
You will need to provide the following information when completing the eform:
- Purpose and context of your proposed move and any supporting documents
- Demonstrate how your office move fulfils the Council’s agile working aims
- Aims and drivers of the move and any potential savings
- Date of move
- How many staff will be moving and if they are fixed / flexible job roles?
- Your current location and plan of your layout (if you do not have a layout you can request this from Paul Gregory)
- Your planned location and any facilities, parking required
- Details of any associated costs
- Does your move include any partner/ 3rd sector organisations?
Submit a request to move office
Also, please note that all proposed office moves which impact upon up to 5 members of staff should still be communicated to Paul Gregory, Estates Manager. If you have any queries, please contact Stephen Morgan, Strategic Asset Manager.
