Redeployment
Page updated: 29/10/2026
This page provides information about the Council’s Redeployment Policy and Procedure, which supports employees who are unable to remain in their current role due to redundancy, ill health, the end of a fixed-term contract, or other exceptional circumstances.
The policy outlines how suitable alternative employment opportunities are identified and offered, the responsibilities of employees, managers and HR throughout the process, and the support available to help employees secure alternative roles within the Council. It also explains trial periods, review arrangements, equality considerations and the principles that ensure the redeployment process is fair, transparent and consistent.
Please refer to the policy for full details.
